Here's an article I found on PTO Today about these programs.

Seems like maybe more isn't always better based on feedback here. And the key seems to be promoting what we're collecting for and and making it fun. I like the idea of keeping in place what we're already doing - and maybe adding one or two really worthwhile programs in addition if we can find them.
Sarah suggested one that multi-tasks. One collection point that will take several different items - that might be worth looking into...
Here is the site i was telling you about that i have set up for a while and never activated. You had to sign up for the "Brigades" before all the slots are taken, we can start collecting:
ReplyDeleteCookie Wrappers, Drink Pouches, Malt-O-Meal® Cereal Bags, Cell Phones. and Elmer's Glue containers and make $0.02 to $0.25 ea.

That looks really interesting - I could probably put a box up at my desk here at work, too. The only thing I didn't see was how you shipped it in? Are you responsible for shipping costs to ship the stuff? If so, I'm wondering if that would be prohibitive, seems like you'd eat up all your profits.
ReplyDeleteI was just reading through, and it says that when you are ready to send in, you simply ask to print a shipping label, so postage is free! However, on alot of them, they only take a certain amount per shipment. Like with the capri suns, you have to have at least 500. Which is totally do-able, if you get people to buy capri suns and keep the trash....Most people recycle, anyway, and I know we wouldn't mind having an extra box for certain trash....
